You can join SUP open group lessons, even if you are by yourself.

With all water sports, it is important that you learn the correct technique from day one and Stand up paddle boarding is no exception.

Our SUP instructors will have you paddling effectively in a short space of time, and ensure you leave us with adequate knowledge to paddle on your own.

Our paddle boarding lessons are conducted in a format that all family members can enjoy, and most importantly, in a safe and nurturing environment.

Please note, group lesson are suitable from 12 years old. We will advise to book for a private SUP class for children under 12

What’s covered in your paddle board lesson:

  • Safety on the water
  • Familiarity with SUP equipment
  • Safe carrying of your paddling equipment
  • Basic paddle strokes and turns
  • Correct posture and position whilst stand up paddling
  • Safe entry and exit from the water
  • Using the paddle for stability
  • Advanced strokes for turning and catching waves
  • The St Kilda paddling environment

What’s provided:

  • Stand up paddle board lesson: 90-minute session, including 30 minutes of instruction
  • SUP equipment included: Stand up paddle board, leg rope, paddle, wetsuit (if required), lifejacket (if required) and rash vest (optional).

We have a variety of paddle boarding Group Lesson times available during the day. However, please note that it is always advisable to do the early morning sessions as conditions are generally the best at this time.

For instance, it can sometimes get too windy in the afternoons.

Do I need to book in advance for a paddle board lesson ?

Yes, it is recommended that you book your paddle board lesson in advance. Nevertheless, you can contact us via phone to check group lesson availability for same-day bookings. We will try our best to accommodate your needs. 

Where can I keep my valuables while I am out paddle boarding?

You can securely store your valuables in the van.

What do I need to bring for my stand up paddle board group lesson?

Bring yourself, a towel and your swimmers. In addition, items that we provide free of charge include: wet suits, rash shirts, life jackets, and sunscreen.

Is there any public facilities nearby?

Yes. There are public toilets, outdoor showers, and water fountains within a 5 minute walk from our SUP lesson location.
